If you have installed a new cartridge or an entire set of cartridges and are experiencing recognition errors, please attempt the following procedures as possible solutions to correct the problem.
Please keep in mind that this problem occurs only occasionally and is the result of a recent firmware release by the manufacturer.
First, remove all the cartridges from your printer. If necessary, please consult your printer's user manual for information on how to access your cartridges. Close the lid and follow any on-printer prompts to proceed.
Your printer should fail to recognize all cartridges.
Insert the Black cartridge and again close the lid and follow any on-printer prompts.
Your printer should now fail to recognize the Cyan, Magenta and Yellow cartridges; but the Black cartridge should be recognized.
Repeat this process until all cartridges are recognized by your printer.
