Answered: Alert- Epson latest Firmware Update ( Mar.2024 )

EPSON FIRMWARE UPDATE NOTICE

Important notice, Epson has released a new firmware update for T212XL, T222XL, T232XL, T812XL & T822XL disabling remanufactured cartridges. Once the end user updates the printer firmware, the remanufactured ink tanks with the old firmware chip will not work in certain printer models.

We recommend DISABLING PRINTER UPDATES on ALL PRINTERS, and to never agree to updates (automatic or otherwise) if you want to continue to be able to use lower cost 3rd party / remanufactured cartridges.

In general, we recommend DISABLING PRINTER UPDATES on ALL PRINTERS, and to never agree to updates (automatic or otherwise) if you want to continue to be able to use lower cost 3rd party / remanufactured cartridges.

To disable automatic updates for the W2030A/W2030X/ series printers -

1. Click Setup on the printer display (gear icon)

2. Click service

3. Click LaserJet Update, then click Manage Updates

4. Click on “automatic check” and set a check mark to “Off”, then repeat the process for the item “Allow updates”

For the CF259A/CF259X series printers:

1. Press the “OK” button and then the “Settings” tab

2. Click through the menu and press “Print Expectation”

3. Then press the menu item “Update firmware”

4. In the menu item “Update firmware” you will find the settings: “Update Settings” and “Allow updates.”

5. At both points set the check mark to “off”

Answered: Non-OEM Epson Cartridge errors- Causes and possible solutions to try

I would suggest to install one cartridge at a time and wait for the printer to read one and then install the other one after that. If any cartridge gives an error, skip that and try the other one to see if works. This way you will know if you get problems with any one or two cartridges or all.

Contact points -

    >Make sure the cartridge chip is clean, free of ink smear and debris.
    >Make sure the printer's contact pin is clean, free of ink smear and debris
    >Verify that the cartridge is seated in the printer securely. Push it down hard until you hear a click. Once it is inside, wiggle it with your finger back and forth. If the cartridge seems to be loose, insert folded paper to the back and thus push the cartridge forward to have good contact with the printer.

Possible Causes:

    >If you installed cartridge with power off, then printer won't know you changed the cartridge. It will confuse the printer and thus cause cartridge error.
    >Sometimes Epson printer won't erase previous error code. When it has a depleted OEM cartridge error, and a non-OEM cartridge warning come together, it causes the printer to display "cartridge not recognized".

Things to try:

    >Install non-OEM cartridge early. Do not wait till OEM cartridges empty.
    >Put the OEM cartridge back and use on-screen prompt to change cartridges.
    >Power off the printer and leave it about 1 hour then power it on
    >Remove all cartridges. Let the printer run without any cartridge. It will create a "no cartridge installed" error and thus erase the "ink cartridge empty" error. After the printer settles down, use on-screen prompt to change cartridges.

It is recommended DISABLING PRINTER UPDATES on ALL PRINTERS, and to never agree to updates (automatic or otherwise) if you want to continue to be able to use lower cost 3rd party / remanufactured cartridges.

This error occurs due to the chip on your cartridge still reporting a low or empty ink level from it's previous use. ... The chip itself cannot be reset, so when the cartridge is refilled and then installed into a new machine it will still register as empty.

All these remanufactured cartridges comes with one year replacement warranty as per the website which I believe is good enough for a user to bring up any issues if they may face with them.

The Only thing you have to make sure is to NEVER update your printer's firmware which may then render the use of these cartridges and then the user will only have to buy OEM HP cartridges which are much costlier as you know...

Still Having said that it's always recommended to try these atleast once so you can compare them with the OEM cartridges and see the difference.

For CLI-8PC ink cartridges you can refill the original Canon ink cartridges and they may require a new chip/ chip resetter to reset the cartridge after refilling. If not, you can otherwise buy the compatible ink cartridges which are ready to use ink cartridges.

Answered: How will I know when I need to replace the drum cartridge?

Replacing a Toner cartridge and Drum is both different but the symptoms are similar, with a little technical know-how and understanding what signs and symptoms to look for, you can rule out ink and toner problems and determine when printer drum replacement is necessary.

Blurry Prints

If your printer is churning out blurry pages, it either means that your printer drum is damaged and in need of replacement or that you need new ink toner. You can determine what the problem is by checking the toner cartridge.

Black Spots

Another common sign of a damaged printer drum is the presence of black spots or blotches on printed documents. This is often the result of a scratched or damaged printing drum surface, which prevents ink and toner from printing properly. If it's just dirt and dust that's present on the printer drum, wipe it off with a dry, lint-free cloth and resume printing to see if that fixes the problem. If problems persist, the drum likely needs to be replaced.

Poor Print Quality

If you're printer is churning out low-quality documents, it's likely the case of a damaged printer drum. Unlike blurry prints or black spots, poor print quality is characterized by faded text and images. However, this is another sign that is easily confused with empty ink and toner cartridges. After you check your ink cartridge levels and determine that they are adequate, check the printer drum. Drums are sensitive and don't last forever, so at some point it is likely you will need to replace it.

Other Signs and Symptoms
There are a variety of other signs and symptoms that point to a printer drum in need of replacement. The most obvious is most common on laser color printers and can be detected by a flashing message on the printer display screen. Other signs of a bad printer drum include printing blank pages, printing gray pages and strange sounds coming from the printer as it prints.

Answered: Epson > Stylus Pro 9900 > Error Code 1537

The 1537 error code indicates that the Ink System Pressure Sensor reports low pressure. for a cartridge(s) which leaks Pressure or the Pressure tubes/unit.

You can Test Ink Cartridges for pressure leaks with the Steps as follows

1. Place a tube on the Air Pressure Inlet for each Cartridge.

2. Blow gently into the tube to inflate the Cartridge.

3. A Cartridge with pressure leak will never fully inflate. A good Cartridge will stop accepting air, eventually.

Or

Try this below

Please turn your printer off then back on after a minute. If it starts up and displays “READY” on the LCD panel, try making a test print. If you get the error message again, open both cartridge bay doors and check all your carts to make sure none are leaking, then reinstall and make sure the back of all carts are level with each other before closing the cartridge bay doors, and the printer should then read the chips and pressurize the carts. If the error returns, please check the carts by following the procedure below.

To determine which refillable cartridge is causing the pressurization problem, open the two cartridge bay doors, unlock and remove the set of refill carts, then install the set of OEM Epson carts

Put All Epson carts in

Take out left most Epson cart,Insert the Refilled cartridge in place

Close and wait and verify.(Each time close the ink bays the cartridges pressurize. Time how long the initial pressurization takes. The one that is a problem will take longer and will probably throw an error.)

Repeat the process with all the carts till you find the which is leaking.

You would have to replace the bad cartridge with a New one after you find the one which gives you the trouble.

Answered: How to maintain a Inkjet printer?

1. Never turn the machine off , let it go to sleep mode and save ink avoiding initiation and processing every time the machine is turned on. Try to use your printer at least two or three times a week. By doing so the print head will remain clear and there will be little chance of ink drying inside the print head resulting in poor print outs.

2. Use a good quality ink. We offering both Re-manufactured/Compatible inks and Premium Brand compatible inks - Made in USA.

3. Never run your ink cartridges until they are dry. This eventually will lead to your print head dying or at the least air being introduced into the print head resulting in low grade print outs.

4. Never remove an ink cartridge and rapidly shake it to check if it has ink inside. This is a common mistake which people make when their printer isn't printing correctly. By shaking an ink cartridge it simply aerates the ink and introduces air into the print head or the line which feeds the print head. This can be very difficult to remove.

5. Never do more than 5 print head cleans at the most. If your printer is not showing signs of improvement after this many cleans then you may need print-head cleaning Flush systems which you can buy from us.

6. Avoid printing only in black and white. Although inkjet printers still use the colors when printing in black and white it is highly recommended to print a color page every so often to keep the ink flowing freely from the print head.

7. Clean your printer out every so often with a vacuum or low pressure air gun. This may help prolong the life of the drive gear and the paper rollers. Also try cleaning the paper rollers every so often as this helps to prevent them becoming shiny and resulting in paper jam.

Is it still printing with a "?" or is it not printing and not getting recognized ?

This might have caused due to cartridge not installed well or the chip on the cartridge might have gone bad for some reason. You can take the cartridge out and clean the chip of the cartridge with a lint free cloth and reinstall to see if that works otherwise you can check with your supplier and email them with your order details for help.

No, you cannot.
They are both different. You can check our website for Dura-firm dyebased ink refill kits which are made for all almost inkjet printers and would work great with your HP60 cartridges

All printer companies base their yields on 5% page coverage, or based on printer pages where on 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. Suppose if a cartridge has a page yield of approximately 500 pages . With printer manufacturer standards, you should be able to print 500 pages at 5% page coverage, which is comparable to printing around 500 short paragraphs or any other details. 5% coverage is a baseline for comparison. If you are printing something more substantial like a legal document or a full-page color photo, your page yield will drop significantly

Answered: will starter cartridge chip from m404n work in hp58x without chip

Yes, It will work as the only purpose is to help your printer recognize the cartridge. you can buy a compatible cartridge and use the Chip from your original cartridge. compatible cartridge that comes without a chip.

You need to move the chip from your original (OEM) cartridge and place it onto compatible cartridge. This means that the printer will show "empty" or "0" toner supply due to the used chip, but the cartridge will still be able to print for the full life cycle and you can bypass the supply message that will popup by following the simple instructions included. Print yield or print quality will not be affected. Transferring the chip is easy to do and takes just a few seconds, instructions included, which will make it easy for you to move the chip from your original cartridge to the compatible cartridge. The chip can be re-used many times. Instructions on how to do this are also provided here: https://youtu.be/b-Bo22ou_70

Answered: Help with refilling HP 61XL black cartridges with Premium Universal Inkjet Refill Kit

Fold a piece of damp kitchen tissue (or any other non fibrous tissue) a couple of times and clean the printhead making sure there is no dried ink or dirt on the printhead. For best results make sure the water is warm.
Then sit the cartridge(s) on some moist kitchen roll making sure the bottom on the cartridge (where the ink comes out from) is in contact with the kitchen roll.
Leave the cartridge sitting on the tissue for 20 minutes, and then re-insert the cartridge back into the printer

Now do a few head cleans/Nozzle cleans through the printer software to get the ink flowing

PLEASE NOTE: If, before you refill your cartridge, your cartridge is already printing with streaks, smudges or lines, or if the cartridge's printheads have dried considerably due to non-use, your cartridge is defective or exhibiting signs of defect, and "refilling" it will not bring it back to life. Our Inkjet Refill Kits are intended to refill functional inkjet cartridges. We recommend refilling an inkjet cartridge before it completely empties and while it is still printing well, or very soon after it empties so the printheads don't dry beyond repair.

It could be either a bad chip on the cartridge or cartridge not installed properly otherwise might be a case of firmware issues if updated in recent days.

You can email us at support with your order# and also please do mention if you had any recent firmware update on your printer which is NOT recommended in order to use the remanufactured cartridges from any supplier in the market. For more info you can refer to this link below:

is it just one Magenta that is not working or have you only tried just the Magenta cartridge?

How to Fool an HP Deskjet Into Thinking it Has New Ink Cartridges

By Pamela

With some HP DeskJet printers, you need to fool the printer into thinking you have replaced the old ink cartridge with a new ink cartridge instead of a refilled ink cartridge that you filled yourself. If the printer keeps telling you to replace the ink cartridge or the ink level still reads empty, you can reset the printer so that it will recognize the refilled ink cartridge as new and read the ink level as full, or close to it.

Step 1

Remove the ink cartridge from the printer carriage. Turn the cartridge over so that you are looking at the copper contacts. The contacts should be the closest to you. If the contacts are at the top of the ink cartridge, turn it around so the contacts are closest to you.

Step 2

Place a small piece of clear tape over the seventh copper contact in the second row of contacts from the left side. Place the cartridge back in the printer. Tell the printer to run an alignment. When the alignment is done, remove the cartridge.

Step 3

Keep that piece of tape on the contact. On the right side of the cartridge, in the second row from the right, place a small piece of tape over the sixth copper contact. Place the ink cartridge in the printer. Run an alignment page again.

Remove the ink cartridge when the alignment is done. Remove the tape, making sure to remove the sticky residue when you remove the tape. Place the cartridge in the printer. The printer is ready.
