Important notice, Epson has released a new firmware update for T212XL, T222XL, T232XL, T812XL & T822XL disabling remanufactured cartridges. Once the end user updates the printer firmware, the remanufactured ink tanks with the old firmware chip will not work in certain printer models.

I would suggest to install one cartridge at a time and wait for the printer to read one and then install the other one after that. If any cartridge gives an error, skip that and try the other one to see if works. This way you will know if you get problems with any one or two cartridges or all.

Contact points -

>Make sure the cartridge chip is clean, free of ink smear and debris.
>Make sure the printer's contact pin is clean, free of ink smear and debris
>Verify that the cartridge is seated in the printer securely. Push it down hard until you hear a click. Once it is inside, wiggle it with your finger back and forth. If the cartridge seems to be loose, insert folded paper to the back and thus push the cartridge forward to have good contact with the printer.

Possible Causes:

>If you installed cartridge with power off, then printer won't know you changed the cartridge. It will confuse the printer and thus cause cartridge error.
>Sometimes Epson printer won't erase previous error code. When it has a depleted OEM cartridge error, and a non-OEM cartridge warning come together, it causes the printer to display "cartridge not recognized".

Things to try:

>Install non-OEM cartridge early. Do not wait till OEM cartridges empty.
>Put the OEM cartridge back and use on-screen prompt to change cartridges.
>Power off the printer and leave it about 1 hour then power it on
>Remove all cartridges. Let the printer run without any cartridge. It will create a "no cartridge installed" error and thus erase the "ink cartridge empty" error. After the printer settles down, use on-screen prompt to change cartridges.

It is recommended DISABLING PRINTER UPDATES on ALL PRINTERS, and to never agree to updates (automatic or otherwise) if you want to continue to be able to use lower cost 3rd party / remanufactured cartridges.

All these remanufactured cartridges comes with one year replacement warranty as per the website which I believe is good enough for a user to bring up any issues if they may face with them.

The Only thing you have to make sure is to NEVER update your printer's firmware which may then render the use of these cartridges and then the user will only have to buy OEM HP cartridges which are much costlier as you know...

Still Having said that it's always recommended to try these atleast once so you can compare them with the OEM cartridges and see the difference.

For CLI-8PC ink cartridges you can refill the original Canon ink cartridges and they may require a new chip/ chip resetter to reset the cartridge after refilling. If not, you can otherwise buy the compatible ink cartridges which are ready to use ink cartridges.

Easy Steps to Resolve Epson Printer Error Code 1433:

Step 1: When Epson Printer error code occurs, firstly you have to disconnect all the USB cords.

Step 2: Now without switching off your printer, you have to remove all USB cables from your printer.

Step 3: After that remove all the ink cartridges.

Step 4: Remove all the paper from the tray.

Step 5: Now you have to leave your printer until your printer asks you to insert the cartridges.

Step 6: IF there is no notifcation on the printer screen then disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.

Step 7: Now wait for 2 minutes and plug the power cable to the back of the printer.

The 1537 error code indicates that the Ink System Pressure Sensor reports low pressure. for a cartridge(s) which leaks Pressure or the Pressure tubes/unit.

You can Test Ink Cartridges for pressure leaks with the Steps as follows

1. Place a tube on the Air Pressure Inlet for each Cartridge.

2. Blow gently into the tube to inflate the Cartridge.

3. A Cartridge with pressure leak will never fully inflate. A good Cartridge will stop accepting air, eventually.

Try this below

Please turn your printer off then back on after a minute. If it starts up and displays “READY” on the LCD panel, try making a test print. If you get the error message again, open both cartridge bay doors and check all your carts to make sure none are leaking, then reinstall and make sure the back of all carts are level with each other before closing the cartridge bay doors, and the printer should then read the chips and pressurize the carts. If the error returns, please check the carts by following the procedure below.

To determine which refillable cartridge is causing the pressurization problem, open the two cartridge bay doors, unlock and remove the set of refill carts, then install the set of OEM Epson carts

Put All Epson carts in
Take out left most Epson cart,Insert the Refilled cartridge in place
Close and wait and verify.(Each time close the ink bays the cartridges pressurize. Time how long the initial pressurization takes. The one that is a problem will take longer and will probably throw an error.)
Repeat the process with all the carts till you find the which is leaking.

You would have to replace the bad cartridge with a New one after you find the one which gives you the trouble.

1. Never turn the machine off , let it go to sleep mode and save ink avoiding initiation and processing every time the machine is turned on. Try to use your printer at least two or three times a week. By doing so the print head will remain clear and there will be little chance of ink drying inside the print head resulting in poor print outs.

2. Use a good quality ink. We offering both Re-manufactured/Compatible inks and Premium Brand compatible inks - Made in USA.

3. Never run your ink cartridges until they are dry. This eventually will lead to your print head dying or at the least air being introduced into the print head resulting in low grade print outs.

4. Never remove an ink cartridge and rapidly shake it to check if it has ink inside. This is a common mistake which people make when their printer isn't printing correctly. By shaking an ink cartridge it simply aerates the ink and introduces air into the print head or the line which feeds the print head. This can be very difficult to remove.

5. Never do more than 5 print head cleans at the most. If your printer is not showing signs of improvement after this many cleans then you may need print-head cleaning Flush systems which you can buy from us.

6. Avoid printing only in black and white. Although inkjet printers still use the colors when printing in black and white it is highly recommended to print a color page every so often to keep the ink flowing freely from the print head.

7. Clean your printer out every so often with a vacuum or low pressure air gun. This may help prolong the life of the drive gear and the paper rollers. Also try cleaning the paper rollers every so often as this helps to prevent them becoming shiny and resulting in paper jam.

Fold a piece of damp kitchen tissue (or any other non fibrous tissue) a couple of times and clean the printhead making sure there is no dried ink or dirt on the printhead. For best results make sure the water is warm.
Then sit the cartridge(s) on some moist kitchen roll making sure the bottom on the cartridge (where the ink comes out from) is in contact with the kitchen roll.
Leave the cartridge sitting on the tissue for 20 minutes, and then re-insert the cartridge back into the printer

Now do a few head cleans/Nozzle cleans through the printer software to get the ink flowing

PLEASE NOTE: If, before you refill your cartridge, your cartridge is already printing with streaks, smudges or lines, or if the cartridge's printheads have dried considerably due to non-use, your cartridge is defective or exhibiting signs of defect, and "refilling" it will not bring it back to life. Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

How to Fool an HP Deskjet Into Thinking it Has New Ink Cartridges

With some HP DeskJet printers, you need to fool the printer into thinking you have replaced the old ink cartridge with a new ink cartridge instead of a refilled ink cartridge that you filled yourself. If the printer keeps telling you to replace the ink cartridge or the ink level still reads empty, you can reset the printer so that it will recognize the refilled ink cartridge as new and read the ink level as full, or close to it.

Step 1

Remove the ink cartridge from the printer carriage. Turn the cartridge over so that you are looking at the copper contacts. The contacts should be the closest to you. If the contacts are at the top of the ink cartridge, turn it around so the contacts are closest to you.

Step 2

Place a small piece of clear tape over the seventh copper contact in the second row of contacts from the left side. Place the cartridge back in the printer. Tell the printer to run an alignment. When the alignment is done, remove the cartridge.

Step 3

Keep that piece of tape on the contact. On the right side of the cartridge, in the second row from the right, place a small piece of tape over the sixth copper contact. Place the ink cartridge in the printer. Run an alignment page again.

Remove the ink cartridge when the alignment is done. Remove the tape, making sure to remove the sticky residue when you remove the tape. Place the cartridge in the printer. The printer is ready.

As most of the issues can be resolved by troubleshooting.Please see if the steps below help you:

HP displays a warning message when a cartridge is half full or is a third party cartridge. The goal of the message is to trick you to buy HP's new "genuine" cartridge. Although HP is obligated by law to let us refill the cartridge, HP planted some tricks. When we insert a half-full or a non-HP cartridge, the printer will display the message "Used or Counterfeit Cartridge." We can click "Continue," "OK" or "Yes" to dismiss this message.

Another HP's trick is to show a follow-up message: "Did you buy this cartridge as a New and Genuine HP Product?" The answer should be "No." If you click "Yes," then HP can stop you from using this cartridge. This message exists in some older printers. We put it here for reference.

The cartridge Is Low on Ink. Click "OK" or "Continue." If you are using a refilled cartridge, please note that this is normal and keep using the printer.
'Used, Refilled or Counterfeit Ink Cartridge Detected' Click "OK" or "Continue."
"Ink Cartridge Depleted." We need to turn off the chip info or "anonymous information" on the printer's LCD panel.
Incompatible Ink Cartridges. It is either an old version of the cartridge or a wrong model. You need to change the cartridge.
HP Protected Cartridge Installed. HP can let you "protect" your cartridge, so the cartridge can only be used in your printer. If you bought a refilled cartridge that is protected, then you won't be able to use it.
Furthermore, if the HP Printer Utility is installed on the computer, we can turn off the "Display HP Alerts."

You can check which cartridge actually has got the problem by Installing NEW Black with the old Color cartridge and see if it works and can Install the NEW Color with your old Black cartridge and see which cartridge is having teh problem and not printing. You can also try and clear the contacts of the Printer and the cartridge using a lint free cloth/ eraser/ alcohol. Just try and reinsert the cartridge for 2-3 times until it gets recognized.

First Hold the Power Button and then press the Cancel button on your printer and hold them together for some 5-10 sec. after that leave the power button first and then the cancel button. See if the lights stopped blinking and if the cartridge work.

caution:
Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles. Also, do not re-tape the cartridges. Doing so can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.

Yes these cartridges are refillable, however, you would also need to change the chip or get a chip resetter (as the refilled cartridges will not be recognized as full, unless the chip is replaced or reset). The new chips are $1.19 each (item number 145-169-01), and the resetter is $19.99 (item number 145-160-01), and is reusable for hundreds of resets, and works on all color chips.

HP updated its firmware (version 1910AR) for all printers using HP 952xl, 902xl, 972A/X, 976Y, 981A/X/Y inkjets on April 9, 2019. If you have your printer setting such that it is allowed to upgrade the firmware from HP via the internet (or if you accepted such a firmware update request from HP), you have essentially allowed HP to lock you out from using remanufactured / 3rd party cartridges. All third party cartridges with an old chip version won't work on the printer with updated firmware.

As of May 13, 2019 - we have released a V5 chip for HP 952xl, 902xl, 972A/X, 976Y, 981A/X/Y inkjets that will work on all these HP models and circumvent the firmware update issue. If you have an earlier version cartridge, please order our new cartridges or contact us for a replacement for a new cartridge with the V5 chip version.

HP 63 / HP 63XL / HP 65 / HP 65XL older generation cartridge issue (cartridges not recognized)

Unfortunately, HP has done it again! For the HP 63 / HP 63XL / HP 65 / HP 65XL ink cartridges, HP has released a "new generation" cartridge version during 2018, that replaced their "older generation" cartridge version which they released initially.

This means that there are 2 types of "HP 63 / HP 63XL" and "HP 65 / HP 65XL" cartridges on the market:
- older generation
- newer generation

The only way to know the difference is to investigate the serial numbers.

THE PROBLEM:
"newer" printers (released after May 2018) will not accept the old generation cartridges.
This is a problem for BOTH remanufactured and HP Original cartridges.

Here is how the error shows up on "newer generation" printers:

As far as we understand, the issue affects customers as follows:

All HP 63 / 63XL should work in all printers EXCEPT newer generation OfficeJet 5255 and OfficeJet 5258 (those 2 printer models will only work with "new generation" cartridges)
All HP 65 / 65XL should work in all printers EXCEPT newer generation HP Deskjet 2655 and HP Envy 5055 (those 2 printer models will only work with "new generation" cartridges)

THE SOLUTION(S):

Firstly, be aware of your rights as a consumer:

- You can choose to use other brand of printers now or in the future (Canon or Epson offers comparable printers to HP, that are often are the same price as the price of a new set of HP Original cartridges)
- If you have been a victim, you might be eligible to join the class action lawsuit. Filing closes March 2019 (https://www.hpprinterfirmwarelawsuit.com/)
What we are doing about it:

If you have bought an HP 63XL / HP 65XL cartridge from us that won't work in your printer and is giving you this "older generation" error, please contact us. We will help determine if the issue is related to the "generation" issue, and either issue you a replacement, refund or store credit.

For HP 63 / 63XL - as of Feb 8, 2019, we already have a new solution developed. It is called an "e-patch" or electronic patch, that we are affixing to our cartridges prior to shipping them out, that will communicate a "new generation" version to your printer. So if you are an HP 63 customer, sending a replacement as of Feb 8, 2019 onwards will definitely solve your issue. This e-patch is quite expensive, but we are including it for FREE for our customers.

For HP 65 / 65XL- we do not have an e-patch ready yet, but expect to have it ready by March 2019. If you have an HP 65 and are affected by this error, sending you a replacement may not work until the e-patch is ready (because it depends on how old the cartridge core is on the remanufactured cartridge that we send out), so we recommend getting a store credit which you can use for any other ink/toner cartridge needs that you have, OR if you can wait a couple of weeks we should have an e-patch out for the HP 65 soon.

HP Firmware blocks ALL cartridges except HP Original Cartridges

How to Prevent smudging on your prints - by raising the printhead

In a previous article I wrote about how to deal with markings on the prints resulting from the printer rollers and the bottom/upper plates of the printer. In this new article we going to learn how to deal with markings resulting from the printhead which normally happens when we use a thicker paper.

All types of printers can be corrected and/or adjusted from the printer menu and I am listing the solution to all Canon and Epsons.
CANON PRINTERS

Go to printer properties and click on maintenance

Click on Custom settings

This window will open up

The print head has now moved further up to make way for thicker paper such as frosting sheets etc and will no longer touch the sheet.
EPSON PRINTERS
On most desktop Epson printers go to the main preferences page which should look like the one below

Select Envelope as your type of paper used and choose the size of your paper from the drop down menu. In this case it is letter size. Because envelope is thicker than ordinary printing paper the print head will change its position to further away from your paper. On some models and nearly on all high end, Epson models you can adjust the print head from the main menu and click on Paper configuration

You will come to this screen

Click the platen Gap button and change it from standard to wide

Your printers print head will now move further away from the paper and it should not smudge your photos. If all of the above fail to remedy the problem in addition to cleaning the rollers from the maintenance menu you should remove the covers of the printer and manually clean all stained rollers and or plates

Epson Inkjet Printers - firmware update November 2017

Around Nov 10 - 25, 2017, Epson has once again attempted to block printer owners from using third-party cartridges from functioning correctly, causing a number of ‘Cartridge Problem’ errors.

Epson pushed an update to many users printers via the internet / firmware update, causing them to show errors such as cartridge not recognized, cartridge damaged, and related errors.

Cartridge models affected may include the Epson T200, T220, T252 and more Epson inkjet cartridge models.

This was done by Epson to cause printer owners to be frustrated with remanufactured cartridges and to get you to buy only Original cartridges! We are on your side and are working on a solution!

We have discovered this issue on 11/27/2017 and are actively working on a solution to affected Epson printer owners. If you have been affected, please contact us but give us a few days to provide you with a solution. Returning the cartridges will cause more frustration and delays, as we expect to have a solution for you within days so you can get back to being able to use remanufactured cartridges.

If you have not yet been affected, you can prevent such issues from occurring by not accepting automatic firmware updates (and not manually updating your firmware either if prompted to do so). Check your printer guide on how to OPT OUT of automatic updates.

Such automatic updates are often presented by Epson as improvements to your printer/software, but they are also used by Epson to block you from using 3rd party cartridges.

INKJET PRINTER ROLLER AND PLATE CLEANING

COMPLAINT	Printouts are dirty, or show traces of ink in thin lines or patches, either randomly, or horizontally or vertically. or Printer “chews” the sheets, or sheets get stuck.
PROBLEM	The printer’s rollers and/or plates may be dirty.
SOLUTION	Clean the printer’s rollers and plates.

If the printouts are dirty or show traces of ink either thin lines or just dirty patches on some parts of the sheet either horizontally or vertically, this could be as a result of the printer’s rollers and plates that are dirty and need to be cleaned. All printers provide a maintenance feature in their menu for cleaning these parts (similar to how they allow you to do a print head cleaning from the maintenance menu in order to clean print-heads if they are clogged).

Above left: example of what some of the printer rollers look like and each printer has a minimum of 2 sets of them in order to drive the paper to the print head.
Above right: A typical printer’s menu in the maintenance tab (on different printers, this menu may look slightly different, but the concept is the same)

On the above 2 photos you can see examples of dirty prints or lines on the page caused by dirty rollers that need cleaning.

Please note:

Rollers are situated in different places according to printer make and model. Certain printers will ask you to choose what you want to clean. Normally they will ask you if you want to clean the rollers and also if you want to clean the top plate or the bottom plate. We always suggest to the customer that they go through cleaning all parts of the printer that it gives us the option to clean by following the instructions step by step.
Very importantly we should recommend to the customer that they should buy a set of cleaning carttridges which will do a better and thorough cleaning of these parts.
Cleaning of Rollers and plates however can be done by using the normal ink cartridges but they will need to do more cleaning cycles to achieve the result and will waste some ink.
The specialty cleaning futures on the printers were put there by the manufacturer because they are absolutely necessary to do some cleaning without having to be an expert and dismantle the printer in order to clean everything manually.
You should use these cleaning functions frequently if you want to have perfect prints and a trouble free printer for a long long time.
